Lexington is a great town. My oldest step daughter lived there for many years until her job transferred she and her husband to Ohio (I told them they were going to wrong way....need to get closer to West Ky). I found the city easy to get around in and I don't like big cities anymore!

Yes, the parole officer has a brain numbing job. The stories he hears day in and day out run together with predictability. He will most likely see the same faces again and again. He just wants to get in his 30 years and retire. That said, I could get jaded in my work. I could tire of the whiners, the drug seekers, the nut jobs. And some days I do. But for the most part I treat people as I would a member of my own family. That's why I picked this profession, and I take pride in making a sick persons day better. I know you understand. The parole man is most likely overworked, overwhelmed, and jaded as you said. I have seen hundreds like him in this journey with Andrew, but you know what..along the way I have met people that went above and beyond to help, and I'm forever grateful to them.

That said, we are most at peace when Andrew is in jail. You understand that also. It has been a very long road for me to accept "it is what it is."

Now..you two. You are independent, unconventional spirits who do the families proud. On Nicki's side of the family, eccentricity is normal (LOL). I'm happy she has found a kindred spirit. You two have chosen not to be part of the "waiting for retirement" herd. I expect great contributions from both of you.

I love and respect so much. You have no idea.
